Job Summary:
The Transportation Specialist will be responsible for operating a school bus safely and efficiently to transport students to and from school. This individual will also be required to perform daily pre-trip inspections of the bus and submit reports as needed.

- Operate a school bus safely and efficiently
- Perform daily pre-trip inspections of the bus

- Meet all current state and federal regulations for driving safety and school bus operation
- Comply with all board regulations and policies
- Adhere to all traffic laws and driving safety rules
Requirements:
- Valid Alabama bus driver certificate and commercial driver's license (CDL)
- Current Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
- Aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities
- Acceptable motor vehicle record
- Successful drug screening results
- Competent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to operate a school vehicle over an assigned route according to a defined time schedule
- Physical dexterity, coordination, mobility, and visual acuity to safely operate school bus or other system-owned vehicles
- Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to exert up to 30 pounds of force
