Director of Risk Management
Description
The Director of Risk Management manages University risk and insurance operations, identifies and analyzes property and liability loss exposures across campus, and collaborates with internal partners, insurance brokers and insurance carriers.

Essential Functions and Duties
The following duties are not to be considered a complete list of duties and responsibilities assigned to this position.
- Identify potential risks and create strategies to minimize their impact.
- Monitor risk management strategies and protocols and make necessary adjustments.
- Develop and manage risk management policies and protocols.
- Review and maintain on file : contracts, affiliation agreements, and insurance requirements for all departments on campus.
- Approve all Faculty / Staff Pre-Approval Travel, Student-Related Travel, and Independent Contractor Agreements.
- Provide risk management advice as needed to all departments on campus.
- Provide training on risk management topics to staff.
- Oversee all property, auto and liability insurance claims.
- Complete all insurance policies application renewals.
- Collaborate with insurance brokers / carriers regarding university activities, loss prevention / control, and policy implementation / renewal.
- Assist with annual campus site visits and loss control visits.
- Stay updated on industry trends and risk management best practices.
- Support the University’s Purchasing Department as needed.
- Perform other related duties incidental to work described herein.
