What are the responsibilities and job description for the Server/Waiter position at Balsam Mountain Preserve?
Position: Server
Greet members and guests upon entrance to the dining room. Prepare dining tables by arranging, silverware, condiments, kitchenware, and decorations. Help members select dishes by answering questions about the menu, and offer to identify appropriate drink pairings. You will check the server station before, during, and after shifts for proper set-up and cleanliness. Performs all assigned side work including replenishing condiments, restocking side tables, and folding napkins.
Hours per week:
- 32 - 40 hours per week for full-time server with health benefits after 90 days.
- 8 hours minimum for a part-time server
Typical start time:
- 10AM for Lunchtime Shift or 4PM for the Evening Shift
Desired Skill(s):
- Processing member charges
- Processing credit cards
- Basic math calculations using a calculator
- Using Point of Sale software (Jonas)
- Using other software, such as Google Sheets or Excel
- Operating a variety of equipment, such as telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines.
- Driving License

Pay: Servers average $20 to $25 per hour with tips. Hourly rate starts at $13.00 per hour and is dependent on experience.
