A vacancy exists in the Police Department, Administrative and Technical Information Services.

Examples of Duties
Under general supervision, creates programs to collect and input data into customized databases for use in management reporting tools; retrieves information and produces reports from available databases; maintains security and ensures quality control of databases.
- Creates programs to fulfill cyclical and ad hoc requests for data from numerous departments and agencies.
- Uses Structured Query Language to access data in relational database management systems.
- Builds and executes queries to accomplish complex inquiries and link subordinate files.
- Develops recommendations for data integrity issues and leads data integrity projects.
- Develops statistical control solutions.
- Writes programs to verify data and tests software.
- Plans and manages test activities.
- Works with programmers and vendor engineers to ensure systems are thoroughly tested.
- Finds and fixes database problems.
- Leads efforts to correct data and delegates projects for data correction.
- Educates staff on proper coding and data entry procedures.
- Oversees database maintenance.
- Develops efficiencies to increase reporting effectiveness.
- Identifies and implements ways to consolidate data.
- Maintains application security.
- Determines access rights of new users, delete users, reset passwords, and provides instructions for system access.

Qualifications
Possession of a high school diploma or an appropriate equivalent.
Plus
Three years of experience in the maintenance of complex databases including the entry and verification of data, two years of which were in the manipulation of data to generate reports.
Character Requirements

Salary
Annual Salary review - Step increases may be granted on anniversary date based on satisfactory job performance
