Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master's degree in nursing or public health
plus
five years' public health nursing experience, three years of which were in a supervisory capacity.
(Additional experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of two years for the required education. Education beyond a master's degree may be substituted on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of two years for the required non-supervisory experience).

Possession of a valid license to practice as a professional registered nurse, issued by the Maryland State Board of Examiners of Nurses, is required at the time of appointment.

Applicants are required to submit proof of licenses, certifications and education beyond high school to meet the required and preferred qualifications of the position. Diplomas or transcripts must show the applicant’s major field of study. Copies and unofficial transcripts are acceptable.

EXAMINATION PROCEDURE

- Coordinates the activities of the Bureau with the services provided by other health care agencies. Provides advice and consultation to staff and serves as liaison to other agencies.
- Plans, prepares, and administers operating and grant budgets. Directs the preparation and maintenance of records, reports, correspondence, and grant proposals.
May perform other duties as required.
