We are currently hiring an IT PROJECT SPECIALIST to support a federal agency.

Position Location:
This position offers hybrid work options. Our office is in Fredericksburg, VA right next to the Fredericksburg (FBG) Amtrak/VRE station.
Position Description:
Responsible for providing project management services towards facilitating the successful execution of IT programs, projects, and initiatives. Using Agile and Waterfall methodologies, manages multiple IT projects/initiatives, tracks progress, and ensures alignment with the organization’s goals and objectives. Collaborates closely with project/initiative managers and cross-functional teams to define requirements, develop project plans, and establish timelines and milestones. Monitors project/initiative resources and risks, identifies potential issues, and implements mitigation strategies as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
· Coordinate project/initiative activities and timelines to ensure alignment with objectives and organizational goals
· Facilitate communication and collaboration among project/initiative team members
· Maintain project/initiative documentation, including project plans, status reports, and other relevant records
· Monitor project/initiative deliverables to ensure that they meet quality standards and fulfill requirements
· Provide written recommendations on Government drafts of executive summaries and briefings
· Provide recommendations and input on other content and presentations
Required Experience:
· 5 years of experience in managing IT projects/initiatives of varying size and complexity from initiation to closure
· 5 years of experience using Agile and Waterfall methodologies
· 5 years of experience communicating and collaborating with stakeholders at various levels, including government executives, IT teams, and external partners
· 5 years of experience collaborating with cross-functional teams
· 5 years of experience creating and maintaining projects/initiatives documentation, including project plans, status reports, meeting minutes, and other relevant records
· 5 years of experience using Microsoft Office Tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, Forms)
Required Education and Certifications:
· Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associates in Project Management (CAPM), or equivalent
