Located in Washington, DC, BankFund maintains three full-service branches downtown with our headquarters located near Farragut West metro station. This position is classified as a role requiring primarily on-site work based in Washington, DC.
Summary :
Reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Officer, the Business Development Manager will develop and execute a comprehensive business and community development plan to identify and enable new opportunities to expand our credit union's membership growth and loan share of wallet.
The position is all about collaboration, data analysis to identify and enable growth opportunities and engage in sponsor and credit union events. The position will work closely with sponsor stakeholders, sponsor country offices, BankFund business units, and local entities, including but not limited to local charities and car dealerships. The position also requires working closely with the GM of Marketing, Senior Manager of Marketing Analytics, and GM of Retail Sales and Service to conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify and enable sales and growth opportunities, implement initiatives, and report results.

Responsibilities
- Analyze member data to identify and enable member growth and sales.
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis in collaboration with the GM of Marketing and Manager of Senior Marketing Analytics to identify trends and new business development, member growth and sales opportunities.
- Assess partnership and collaboration opportunities using data-driven insights.
- Create and execute an annual business development plan detailing tactics and measurable outcomes for growth in members, sales, and business partners (For example, WBG Country Offices and local car dealerships)
- Engage in new member orientations, membership growth events and other related events that allow the credit union to connect with prospective new members.
- Evaluate and recommend rewards and member incentives to acquire new members and drive more share of the wallet.
- Communicate insights and recommendations to cross-functional teams including Marketing and Retail Sales and Service.
- Act as a liaison and advisor to branch staff and the Giving Back Program Committee to create and enable new sales strategies and tactics.
- As new initiatives are introduced, work with marketing to develop campaigns and messaging strategies for existing and prospective business partners.
- Identify, build, and manage long-term relationships with strategic partners in the sponsor group community and local community.
- Identify community involvement opportunities and determine which are the most appropriate and beneficial to pursue.
- Develop a membership growth plan in collaboration with Marketing for building relationships with credit union members and prospects at the World Bank Group Country Offices to expand the market penetration within these locations.
- Maintain a strong community presence and build brand awareness through on-site events, networking, and other outreach activities with and for members within FOM.
- Increase membership product penetration from the existing field of membership through innovative collaboration and partnerships.
- Maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers through regular, personalized contact.
- Develop a plan to build long-term relationships with local car dealerships or other local entities.
- Propose and implement new strategies to enhance member acquisition and reduce retention.
- Maintain accurate records of statistics, contacts, and agency relationship activities and provide comprehensive written reports regularly regarding development efforts.
- Provide monthly reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, detailing all efforts and results for new memberships generated, new partnerships established, open enrollments / tabling events held and community sponsorship / event participation.

For internal purposes, this position is graded as Exempt-14.
The anticipated annualized base salary range for this position is $132,000 to $165,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual's job-related experience, skillset, training, certifications and market demands. The benefits available for this full-time position include but are not limited to : medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and paid time off, including paid parental leave benefits. In addition to base compensation salary, this role position is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
