JOB DESCRIPTION
Retail Banking Specialist I- The Retail Banking Specialist is responsible for front line transactions, as well as representing to our customers the first stage of all account relationships. Proper training on policies, procedures, and products and services for account representatives and those on the front line is vital to the success of the Bank. The impression the Retail Banking Specialist makes with our customers is an important quality for developing and maintaining our account relationships.

Reports to: Head Teller, Assistant Manager, Branch Manager
Supervises: None
Summary: A Retail Banking Specialist I is cross functional and will undertake most, or all of the frontline transaction activities, such as, cashing checks, taking in deposits, and making withdrawals. Requires six months learning these basic functions to begin to train on the other job functions of this position.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At a minimum, six months’ experience in a service-related field.
- Some computer skills and the ability to operate standard office equipment.
- Successful completion of in-house training and a 90-day probation period.
- Good interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- At a minimum works one night a week and every other Saturday.
SPECIFIC JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Greet customers with a smile, use their name and thank them for banking with BankGloucester.
- Adheres to the Bank’s security procedures and follows all Bank policies.
- Processes variety of customer transactions, including but not limited to deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, issuing of bank checks, money orders, processing mortgage and loan payments, processing night deposit and ATM balancing transactions.

Performs basic customer service transactions:
- Printing/hot card debit cards.
- Travel notifications.
- Printing statements and copies of checks.
- Address change requests.
- Answers general customer questions, as well as problem solving customer issues.
- Basic knowledge on consumer products and services.
- Determine customer needs by suggesting appropriate products or referring to the appropriate area, such as Lending or Hayden Wealth Management.
- Maintains a clean, organized, and secure area, always aware of customer privacy.
- Completes CTR’s in accordance with the Bank Secrecy Act and reports any suspicious or unusual activity to the supervisor.
- End of day processing.
- Complete BVS Compliance training quarterly.
- Any other duties assigned.

Completion of the above certificates to move on to Retail Banking Specialist II when appropriate.
