Summary: This position involves both the comprehensive management of existing commercial relationships as well as soliciting new business opportunities with assigned customers and targeted prospects.

Essential Functions:

  • Serve as the primary advisor for an assigned portfolio of diverse and complex commercial relationships, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and retention.

• Coordinate with product partners to cross-sell a full range of Bank’s products and services. • Critically review and analyze portfolio to reduce risk and enhance profitability

  • Facilitate commercial credit requests, including loan structuring, negotiating/pricing, collateral, ensuring adequate loan documentation, and analyzing industry/credit risk
  • Facilitate the resolution of commercial customer problems, engaging product experts as needed.
  • Participate in community and business functions/groups to ensure a positive image for the bank and to establish referral contacts within the marketplace.
  • Ensure compliance with all bank policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.
  • Service existing relationships by addressing research and maintenance requests, decision overdrafts, working the loan maturities list to keep current.

• Stay current with customer communications. Additional Responsibilities: • Ensuring compliance in BSA, OFCA, Privacy, Information Security, and all other regulations as applicable to the position. Failure to ensure compliance can result in Civil and Criminal Penalties, as well as corrective actions up to and including termination.

  • Staying knowledgeable about the bank’s products and services and looking for opportunities to make recommendations to customers based on need.

• Fostering the spirit of teamwork in supporting the bank’s goals and mission statement. • Responsible for opening and closing of office along with officer Saturday rotation

  • Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Required Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Two or more years of related Commercial Lending experience and/or training.
  • Graduate School of Banking Programs or similar two-to-three-year banking programs preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge of the full range of commercial products, credit policies, procedures and terminology
  • Ability to maintain a valid driver’s license and meet Commerce Bank’s driving record criteria; ongoing employment may be contingent upon meeting all driving requirements
  • Strong time management skills, with ability to appropriately prioritize calling activities and strategies
  • Goal oriented with well-developed sales skills
  • Strong strategic, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to structure more complex commercial credit requests
  • Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Inquisitive, agile and strong team player with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Current satisfactory registration of the NMLS registry.
  • An ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with the Bank’s culture and mission statement.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Working Environment: Professional Office Environment, travel to client offices, attorney offices and/or properties. Flexibility to meet customers at all times of the day and week for appointments.
