Chief Lending Officer

We have an opening for a Chief Lending Officer Directs and manages the Bank’s lending product activities, including consumer and commercial loan production and overall loan relationships ensuring compliance with Bank lending policies. Responsible for developing and sustaining a sale driven culture to ensure a competitive environment of relationship based sales and service excellence. Responsible for the overall management and direction of the Bank’s lending officers. Develops new and improves existing loan products, and service fee income sources. Participates in Bank senior management committees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1. Demonstrates quality customer service principles with internal and external customers consistently.
2. Serves as a member of the Bank's senior management team and Bank committees including Management Loan Committee.
3. Develops sales policies, programs, objectives, and goals to ensure bank wide strategies are executed in an effective manner maintaining the integrity and profitability of the Bank.
4. Responsible for establishing best practices as they relate to the sales process and sales culture within the entire Bank organization.
5. Directs, builds and leads a highly motivated, customer focused relationship sales and service team responsible for results-oriented excellence and the achievement of aggressive business and consumer deposit and loan objectives in accordance with the Bank’s strategic vision.
6. Is accountable for creating and sustaining an environment of relationship sales and service excellence achieved by developing, executing and managing aggressive strategic sales and service initiatives, programs and local market activities.
7. Responsible for promoting the Bank’s brand within the market and communities served and for delivering and supporting the Bank’s core values.
8. Directs the Business Bankers and their activities with prospective customers in the professional and small business market by identifying the financial needs of those customer, and to fill those needs with the wide range of products and services including, but not limited to extensions of commercial and/or real estate credits, demands, savings or time deposit account products or other services offered.
9. Ensures that lending officers are familiar with regulatory environment and the specifics of applicable regulations and statutes.
10. Ensures that lending officers manage the necessary financial information by identifying the customer’s needs, analyzing the customer’s request and then review to determine whether the request is an acceptable risk.
11. Actively participate in community and civic organizations, as appropriate, to positively reflect the Bank in the community.
12. Conducts performance evaluations; interviews; disciplines employees; schedules employees; makes recommendations for hiring, promotion, transfers and termination of staff members.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Requires Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Banking, or related field.
2. Advanced degree or certification in related discipline.
3. Minimum 10 years increasingly responsible experience in business development of commercial, real estate, and consumer lending.
4. Minimum 10 years in a management role with sales and marketing experience.
5. Must know and understand the regulatory environment and how the lending function fits in that environment. Comprehensive knowledge of lending principles, practices and services in domestic and international banking.
6. Excellent oral communication skills with the ability to develop excellent business development initiatives and build concrete customer relationships.
7. Ability to define problems, analyze data, and design and implement solutions to enhance the Bank’s sales culture.
8. Excellent written communication skills, and the ability to clearly and concisely express analytical conclusions and recommended actions with tact and diplomacy.
9. Ability to use knowledge, experience, discretion and independent judgment in solving problems and answering questions in a fast-paced, changing environment.
Bilingual is a plus
