Job Summary:
The Compliance Analyst I provides support to all levels of bank staff to ensure compliance with federal, state, and other bank-related laws and regulations and adherence with bank policies and procedures. The Compliance Analyst I will maintain extensive knowledge of law and regulations applicable to the bank, as well as assist in researching, analyzing, interpreting, and implementing new and pending rules and regulations and will serve as the subject matter expert on projects and other bank working groups and committees.
Primary Functions and/or Responsibilities:
- Collects and analyzes compliance-related data for the purpose of complying with regulatory requirements, supporting compliance monitoring activities, and reporting to committees
- Assists in researching, analyzing, interpreting, and implementing new and pending rules and regulations
- Researches and responds to compliance-related questions and inquiries from staff in a timely manner
- Conducts compliance monitoring to analyze and test bank products and services for regulatory compliance, collaborates with bank staff to remedy weaknesses identified in monitoring, and reports on observations/outcomes. Ensures high risk observations are reported to Internal Audit and/or the bank's Audit Committee.
- Serves as subject matter expert on projects and bank working groups and committees
- Reviews bank advertisements and marketing materials
- Creates and implements Compliance Department procedures
- Assists in the administration of the online regulatory training system, including creating and delivering compliance training
- Maintains current and extensive knowledge of law and regulations applicable to the bank
- Assists in the gathering of documentation and information requested by auditors and examiners and in tracking and responding to audit and exam findings and corrective actions
- Leads special compliance projects as assigned
- Performs other duties as assigned
Education and/or Experience:
- Two-year post-secondary degree/specialized study preferred OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
- A minimum of two years of banking experience with exposure to or knowledge of consumer banking, lending, and/or operations preferred
- Associate degree or higher preferred OR an equivalent combination of both experience and education
- CCBCO, CRCM, AAP, or other compliance accreditation preferred
Specific Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
- Service-minded approach to assisting business units
- Ability to learn through independent research and study
- Ability to read, comprehend, and summarize complex legal and regulatory writings
- Knowledge of bank software systems/operations desired
- Skilled research ability
- Skilled in data analytics and reporting (SQL experience is a plus)
- Willingness to pursue ongoing training and learning opportunities
Hiring Salary Range
The hiring range below reflects targeted base salary. Actual compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s prior related experience & education and will be finalized at the time of offer. In addition to base salary, most positions are also eligible to participate in our annual bonus program. Select positions may also be eligible to earn incentives and/or commissions. Hiring Salary Range: $54,000 - $62,400
