What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler Inks position at Banknote Corp of America?
GENERAL PURPOSE: Assist in ink room to supply presses with ink to meet customer specifications. This shift will work from 2pm - 10pm.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Helps to maintain ink inventory.
- Keeps ink room clean and orderly.
- Delivers ink and dies to press.
- Blends inks and topcoats.
- Performs color matches.
- Creates color standards.
- Troubleshoots ink problems.
- Assists with training new hires on the proper use of inks and coatings.
- Complies with company policies and procedures.
- Follows established safety policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Supports, understands, and adheres to ISO guidelines.
- Ensures all inks and chemicals are labeled correctly in accordance with OSHA
- Performs other job duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or general education degree (G.E.D.) and at least three years experience in an ink room preferred.
- Prior press operator experience is a plus.
- Must have basic computer skills.
- Must be able to run mixers and use densitometers and spectrophotometers.
- Must be able to clearly discuss ink problems with press operators
- Must fully understand all ink systems used on presses.
- Must have basic mathematical skills.
- Must demonstrate effective interpersonal communication skills.
- Must be willing to work overtime as needed; significant overtime may be required during busy periods.
- Must be able to perform all essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.54 per hour
Schedule:
- 8-hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime when needed
