About the Role
The Business Banker role is responsible for developing and managing relationships with our commercial customers, providing them with customized financial solutions to meet their business needs. This role involves a blend of business development, portfolio management, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Relationship Management:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with commercial customers, understanding their business operations and financial needs.
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers, providing personalized banking solutions and exceptional service.
- Conduct regular meetings with customers to review their financial status and discuss new opportunities.
Business Development:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to grow the commercial banking portfolio.
- Develop and implement strategies to attract new commercial customers and expand existing relationships.
- Collaborate with internal partners to cross-sell bank products and services, including loans, deposits, treasury management, and merchant services.
Credit Analysis and Risk Management:
- Evaluate customers financial statements and creditworthiness to make informed lending decisions.
- Prepare and present credit proposals to credit committees for approval.
- Monitor loan portfolios to ensure compliance with bank policies, strategic directives, and regulatory requirements.
Financial Solutions and Advisory:
- Provide customers with expert advice on a wide range of financial products and services tailored to their business needs.
- Assist customers with cash flow management, working capital optimization, and other financial strategies.
- Stay informed about market trends, economic conditions, and regulatory changes affecting commercial banking.
Portfolio Management:
- Manage a portfolio of commercial banking customers, ensuring their financial needs are met and risks are managed effectively.
- Perform regular reviews of customers accounts and financial health.
- Work with customers to restructure loans and develop workout plans as needed.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure all customer documentation is complete, accurate, and complies with bank policies and regulatory requirements.
- Stay current with all banking regulations and ensure adherence to compliance standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field strongly desired.
- Proven experience in commercial banking, business banking, or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of commercial banking products and services.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Strong understanding of credit analysis and risk management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and banking software applications.
