Scope :
The Chief Banking Officer (CBO) is an executive level position and is responsible for significantly contributing to the strategic planning and direction of the bank, overseeing deposit pricing and growth, customer relationship growth, developing, implementing, and achieving annual goals and objectives.
Accountabilities :
The Chief Banking Officer (CBO) will :
- In conjunction with the executive team (CEO, CFO, CLO) organize, set, and implement the annual deposit growth strategy in the annual operating plan. In conjunction with the executive team, set annual deposit pricing targets that coordinate with the bank's annual deposit growth strategy.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and success of all deposit based products and services. Oversee the development, implementation, and success of the GBB&T cross sales program through Synapsys. Oversee and guide the bank's process for introduction of new deposit based products and services, updating of current products and services and elimination of unnecessary products and services. Present to the board reports on the performance of the bank related to meeting deposit growth targets as well as the performance of the bank's wealth management and trust programs to include initiatives and strategies for future growth.
- Work closely with the Marketing Department in coordinating marketing and sales efforts. This will include business development activities in conjunction with established bank objectives and goals. Work with the Marketing Director to develop, update, and enhance all marketing materials and platforms associated with Deposits, Retail Lending, Wealth Management, and Trust. Oversee the wealth management, private banking, and trust functions of the bank, establishing and growing relationships with GBB&T large deposit customers and growing these value added services of the bank in coordination with the Wealth Management & Private Banking Officer. In coordination with the Compliance Officer, ensure compliance with regulatory agencies will all products and services associated with deposits, retail lending, wealth management and Trust. Act and serve when needed as Assistant Trust Officer. Train, lead, and coach staff to represent the values of the bank and perform at a high level. Guide the growth of direct reports through mentorship, coaching and open discussion of established performance expectations and ongoing performance. Conduct monthly 1 : 1 meetings with direct reports. Work with HR to ensure adequate staffing to include interview and selection. Participate and honorably represent GBB&T in sponsored, civic, and volunteer activities. Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
