Upper School Teacher (History)

Banner Christian is a dynamic K-12 school located in Chesterfield, Virginia. Our desire is to provide an excellent, college preparatory education through a biblical worldview that meets the needs of the whole child, embracing the academic, emotional, physical, social, and spiritual aspects of each individual. We are looking for an individual who feels called to join us in our mission through service in the following teaching position: upper school history (Government, US History, Western Civilizations, Bible, Economics)

We seek qualified, dedicated, and professional teachers passionate about Christian education and discipleship at the upper school level for the 2025-2026 school year.

This position requires

• a dynamic faith in Christ and a strong love for students that draws them closer to God through example and discipleship
• a bachelor’s degree or higher in history or related field
• teaching experience in upper-level classes (preferred but not required)
• teacher certification from ACSI or willingness to obtain
• a background check
• a completed employment application (found at bannerchristian.org)
• effective classroom management that is conducive to a productive learning environment
• preparation and execution of detailed lesson plans including integrating a biblical worldview into all subjects taught
• utilization of a variety of instructional methods in delivering course content and gauging student learning using multiple assessment methods
• maintenance of records on the school management system (FACTS)
• effective communication with students, parents, administration, faculty, and staff
• adherence to and enforcement of school policies and practices; functioning as a team player
