Structured Finance Modeling Analyst
Primary Function :
Reporting to Corporate Counsel, the Structured Finance Modeling Analyst maintains and oversees financial responsibilities, including data analysis, tracking and reporting and account invoicing. Specific areas of responsibility include financial analysis and modeling. This position supports legal and sales in making responsible decisions.
Expertise in Microsoft Excel is a MUST
Responsibilities :
Financial Modeling & Analysis :
- Spreadsheet, modeling, and forecasting for structured finance transactions.
Constructing and updating MS Excel cash flow models, including amortization tables, present value calculations, internal rate of return, and capitalized interest models. Knowledge of debt and time value money calculations is critical.
Analysis of project finance cash flow models submitted by outside parties.
Strategic pricing modeling.
Analyze and report to senior management and origination team project viability based on cash flows.Analyze and devise solutions regarding modification requests for existing projects.Coordinate and participate cross-departmentally during the deal negotiation stage to ensure accurate pricing and that contractual provisions are in compliance with the financial model.Track capital market investments and maintain the capital market portfolio.Create and submit monthly contract payment invoices and complete the payment reconciliation process via in-house MS Access Database.Populate and maintain transaction data in the organization’s database.Applying industry and professional standards to all areas of expertise, as well as adhering to company policies and procedures.Plus, other duties as may be assigned.Maintenance and Reporting :
Maintain standards and procedures for financial analysis.Prepare periodic reports.Respond to requests for adhoc financial information and reports.Respond to requests for special analyses of specific opportunities.Upload closing documents into MS Access Database, as well as create invoice.Cross-training.Competencies :
Expertise in Microsoft Excel.Ability to deconstruct and re-create existing Excel financial models.Skilled at analysis, financial modeling, problem solving and forecasting.Ability to think strategically and translate into operational objectives.Ability to effectively explain financial modeling concepts cross-departmentally as well as to outside party stakeholders.Strong organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills, including verbal, and written communication skills.Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) – MOS certification preferred.Education :
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or relevant field required.Master's degree preferred.Required Experience :
Strong Excel modeling and / or related experience.Accounting, bank or insurance company experience.
