Full Circle Communities, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician II to support the efficient operation, safety, and maintenance of our 134-unit affordable housing community in Chicago’s Near South Side. This role is part of a regional management team, rotating among properties such as Torrence Place, Brainerd Park, Brainerd Senior, and Lansing South.
Guided by our core values, the Maintenance Technician II will work under the direction of the Community and/or General Manager to uphold the physical integrity of our properties. You’ll ensure adherence to Full Circle policies and state and federal regulations, creating a safe, secure, and comfortable environment for residents, visitors, and staff. Your role involves anticipating, identifying, and resolving maintenance issues to enhance resident satisfaction.
You’ll handle apartment turns, general maintenance tasks like plumbing, electrical work, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and appliance repair, as well as custodial tasks, grounds care, and snow removal. You should be comfortable using hand and power tools and have knowledge regarding water and gas cutoffs.
Daily team huddles will keep work on track. You'll also participate in unit inspections, complete service requests promptly, and maintain clear communication with staff, residents, and professional partners.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent, or related field
- At least five (5) years of full-time maintenance experience
- A valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and insurance required
- HVAC certification and/or experience is preferred
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification – or willing to obtain within 90 days of hire
Physical Requirements
This active role involves standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting items over 50 pounds regularly. It also requires specific vision abilities, including close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustments.
This is a full-time position with Monday–Friday hours. You’ll also participate in an on-call rotation and may need to work weekends and holidays as needed.
