Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated Sales Applications Engineer Intern to join our team and bridge the gap between engineering solutions and customer needs. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with interpersonal skills to provide innovative automation solutions, support sales efforts, and ensure customer satisfaction. This role involves working closely with our Applications Engineering and sales teams. This is an excellent opportunity for students passionate about industrial automation, problem-solving, and customer interaction to gain real-world experience. Exceptional performance during this internship may lead to a part-time opportunity during the academic year and future opportunities.
This position reports to the Applications Engineer Manager.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Build a cross-reference library for inactive parts as well as the competitor offerings.
- Create templates for system bill of materials.
- Collaborate with Application Engineers to understand customers’ applications and propose tailored automation solutions.
- Develop demo kits for Applications Engineers, and present demonstrations of products to the Inside sales team.
- Conduct role plays with Inside Sales on product functionality and system integration
- Develop and refine system processes.
- Provide feedback to product management teams on customer insights and market trends.
What You Bring to the Table
Required
- Current student who’s pursuing an Associate, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Able to take direction and proceed independently
- Confidence to ask questions, make suggestions and collaborate with the team.
- High energy and drive to support multiple projects at the same time
- Strong desire to understand how things work.
Preferred
- Currently pursuing a degree in engineering, Physics, IT, or relevant field.
- Have strong interest and basic understanding in industrial automation, IIoT platforms, industrial networking protocols, and customer-centric problem solving.
- Experience working within an industrial automation environment.
