Job Description:
Baptist Health is looking for an Associate Vice President, Virtual Care & Workforce Transformation to join their team. This system level role will be located in Louisville, KY.
This leadership position is a key role responsible for the development, expansion, and oversight of Baptist Health's hospital-based virtual care services and programs, as well as regional and system staffing solutions. This position will lead the system in the development and implementation of:
- Virtual Care Models: Technology-driven strategies designed to deliver patient-centered care remotely or enhance in-person care by integrating virtual tools into clinical workflows, improving patient access, safety, outcomes, and patient and staff experience.
- Regional Staffing Solutions: Workforce strategies to address variations in staffing needs across the system, including options such as regional staffing pools, internal contract labor pools, or hybrid approaches.
The role requires collaboration with Hospital Chief Nursing Officers (CNOs), IT and other key stakeholders to align initiatives with the nursing strategic plan, while incorporating change management principles to ensure successful adoption and integration. This position will assure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain a commitment to continuous quality improvement, patient safety, and operational efficiency.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive virtual care strategy and regional staffing solutions aligned with Baptist Health’s mission and goals.
- Identify and evaluate emerging trends in virtual care models to ensure innovation and alignment with the nursing strategic plan.
- Work with key stakeholders to integrate virtual care models and staffing solutions into Baptist Health’s overall strategic plan.
- Build and develop staffing solutions that address regional and system-level variation in staffing needs while driving better patient outcomes, experience, and retention.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and management of virtual care programs, that could include virtual sitters, virtual nursing, central cardiac monitoring and other services as dictated by changing health care needs and opportunities.
- Collaborate with CNOs and operation leaders to integrate virtual care services seamlessly into clinical workflows and patient care plans.
- Monitor performance and outcomes of virtual care programs and staffing strategies, utilizing data-driven decisions to improve quality, safety and efficiency.
- Implement quality assurance processes to monitor and improve patient safety, outcomes, and experience.
- Develop and manage the budget ensuring financial sustainability and cost-effectiveness
- Facilitate change management initiatives using Kotter’s Change Management tools or similar evidence-based methodologies to support the implementation of new models of care and technology.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Nursing, Business, or Healthcare Administration
- Five years experience in upper level nursing management, preferably in a healthcare system environment
- Virtual Nursing Experience, System Command Center
