Vaco has partnered with a construction company in Louisville looking for Senior Estimator to join their team!
Key Responsibilities :
Estimate Preparation :
Develop detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Interpret architectural and engineering plans, project specifications, and other documentation to identify project requirements.
Bid Management :
Lead the preparation of competitive bid proposals, ensuring accuracy and compliance with client requirements.
Collaboration :
Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients during the pre-construction phase.
Market Analysis and Cost Research :
Research and analyze market trends, material costs, and labor rates to maintain up-to-date pricing information.
Project Risk Assessment :
Identify potential project risks and provide mitigation strategies.
Leadership and Training :
Mentor and guide junior estimators, providing technical expertise and support.
Reporting and Documentation :
Prepare detailed reports and presentations for management and clients.
Qualifications : Education :
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Relevant experience may substitute for formal education.
Experience :
Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in construction estimating, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role.
Technical Skills :
Proficiency in construction estimation software (e.g., ProEst, Bluebeam, PlanSwift).
Soft Skills :
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
