Position Summary:
Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, performs duties related to the cardiac telemetry monitor of patient care and maintenance of equipment. Observes monitors without distraction. Accountable for monitoring the telemetry system, detecting and reporting cardiac arrhythmia, and generating tracings on assigned patients. Possesses knowledge of basic medical terminology and basic telephone skills.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
- Minimum: High School Diploma or Equivalent; Monitor Tech Certification
- Preferred: College Degree
Experience:
- Preferred: One (1) year experience in a hospital setting
Certification/Licensure/Registration:
- American Heart Association BLS
