RN Weekend Supervisor, Charge Nurse

Job Summary: Coordinate, plan, implement, delegate and evaluate the nursing care functions of the neighborhoods in order to provide quality care to residents. As a Charge Nurse/Weekend Supervisor the primary purpose of your job position is to provide direct nursing care to the residents, and to supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by C.N.A.s, C.M.A.s and R.A.s. Such supervision must be in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility, and as may be required by the Director of Nursing Services or Administrator to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is always maintained.

Responsibilities:

· Act as RN supervisor on the days assigned to work.

· Make rounds to each room; check on quality of care given.

· Take care of any staff conflicts.

· Be available to visit with family members.

· Seek appropriate care for any acute illnesses or emergencies.

· Chart in nurses notes as indicated.

· Assist with scheduling of staff as needed.

· Have appropriate communication with the Director of Nurses to relay any pertinent information regarding weekend activity.

· Any accident/incident requiring advance treatment ie, transfer to hospital or X-ray, notify the DON, complete a State Incident Report and other appropriate documents which are too be faxed to the States within 24 hours of the time the incident/accident occurred.

· Review Daily Skilled Nursing Notes for all SNF residents.

· Prepare Saturday and Sunday’s SNF assessment sheet for all SNF residents.

· Check for new lab reports and review, sign off, make a copy and give original to charge nurses. If any critical information on the report the Charge Nurse will need to call the physician immediately.

• Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility.

Qualifications:

· Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and be currently licensed in the state of Oklahoma

· RN with at least 2 years experience in long term care is preferred.

· Must have good leadership skills.

· Ability to read, write and speak English.
