BNI is starting a new journey by adding an organizational development function to its human resources and employee development program. This new role will be instrumental in shaping the culture of the team and in prioritizing and implementing projects that will increase the quality of the employee experience through enhanced and structured development.
The Organizational Development Specialist will support Barber National Institute by planning and implementing development and training programs that support compliance, employee growth, and Barber culture needs. They will act as liaison and advisor to the organization's leadership on staff development and will facilitate employee initiatives across BNI.

Since our founding in 1952, we have evolved into a multi-faceted organization serving more than 6,200 individuals annually with a wide range of educational, vocational, residential, and behavioral health programs.
The Organizational Development Specialist will support Barber National Institute by planning and implementing development and training programs that support compliance, employee growth, and Barber culture needs. They will act as liaison and advisor to the organization's leadership on staff development and will facilitate employee initiatives across BNI.
Responsibilities:
- Leads aspects of the assigned employee development programs to ensure effective collaboration, employee development, metrics are established and achieved, and the programs continuously meet established compliance-related training objectives.
- Creates, organizes, plans, presents, and manages various forms of onboarding, orientation, and skills training.
- Develops and updates career ladder and lattice structure and programs, organizational competencies, and mentoring programs.
- Develops innovative learning activities, audio-visual materials, instructor guides and lesson plans.
- Reviews evaluations of training courses, objectives, and accomplishments to ensure continuous improvement and goal achievement is realized.
- Assesses effectiveness of training in terms of employee accomplishments and performance and updates programs to increase quality of impact.
- Leads working groups designed to positively impact BNI culture through activities, education, and programming.
- Manages vendor relationships for outsourced training needs to ensure compliance and that objectives are achieved.
- Determines cost-effective ways to train staff and creates focused learnings paths suitable for the needs of the program, service, and organization.
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, organizational development or business or related field or equivalent work experience is required. Master’s Degree is preferred.
- At least six years related experience required.
- Certified Professional in Talent Development (ATD-CPTD) and/or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
- Eligibility for State Police Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse History Clearance
- FBI clearance required for individuals who do not meet PA residency requirements.
