Position Summary : The Onboarding Specialist is responsible for ensuring a seamless and efficient application approval and onboarding experience for new clients. This role involves conducting investigative research on prospective accounts, analyzing credit and financial data, compiling required customer documentation, and maintaining direct communication with clients. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and customer-focused, with a keen ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Key Responsibilities :
Investigative Research :
Conduct basic investigative research on prospective accounts to gather relevant information, including company history, company credit worthiness, authorized contacts, etc.
Utilize online resources, public databases, and company tools to verify client details.
Credit and Risk Assessment :
Run Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) and other credit reports to assess the financial stability and creditworthiness of prospective accounts.
Summarize findings and provide recommendations to new account approvers.
Customer Documentation :
Compile and maintain accurate customer information, including payment authorizations, credit applications, and other required documentation.
Ensure all records meet compliance standards and are properly filed within the company's systems.
Client Communication :
Serve as the primary point of contact during the approval and onboarding process, providing clear and timely updates to prospective clients.
Address client inquiries and coordinate with internal teams to resolve any issues or delays.
Process Coordination :
Collaborate with finance and operations teams to ensure smooth transitions from prospect to active client status.
Identify and implement improvements to onboarding processes for greater efficiency and client satisfaction.
Reporting and Metrics :
Maintain detailed records of onboarding activities and provide regular updates to management.
Track onboarding metrics to measure efficiency and effectiveness.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills :
2 years of experience in client onboarding, customer service, or a related role.
Familiarity with credit reporting tools (e.g., D&B, Experian) and basic financial analysis.
Strong research and investigative skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems (e.g., Teams, Microsoft Dynamics CRM).
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
