What are the responsibilities and job description for the Building Tech III position at Barefoot Bay Recreation District?
General Purpose:
Engages in the maintaining and repairing of physical structures of buildings and grounds by performing the duties listed below.
Essential duties:
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Paint interior and exterior walls of buildings throughout the District, to include benches, planters, trim work, as associated with these buildings
Repair parking lots and sidewalks with asphalt, cold patching material and concrete in the RV compound
Repair sidewalks, fences, traffic and information signs throughout the District
Perform minor electrical repairs within the buildings on properties to include changing light bulbs and tubes, installing light switches and receptacles. The scope of this work will be determined by the supervisor to stay within good safety practices
Perform minor plumbing duties such as clogged drains, toilet mechanisms, swimming pool pipe and valve repairs, showers and vanity faucets, and minor irrigation repairs
Minor carpentry and roof repairs on all District structures
Use light or heavy equipment for land clearing and grading.
Maintain and repair District buildings
Assist other Building technicians

Must be able to lift 50 pounds
Must have Florida drivers license and be able to drive vehicle with standard shift

History of Barefoot Bay Barefoot Bay began as an idea for a recreational vehicle vacation resort for those looking to escape the colder weather up north or just looking for a great place to relax. In 1968, the Gulf Acceptance Corporation, purchased the original one thousand acres that would become known as Barefoot Bay. With that, the vision for a Polynesian themed recreation community had begun. The beautiful Polynesian style clubhouse opened its doors in June of 1971. It would host up to 500 people and include a full kitchen.
