Overview :
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to join our organization as the Coordinator of Diet and Nutrition. The Coordinator of Diet and Nutrition will oversee all aspects of dietary services and nutritional care, ensuring the provision of high-quality, evidence-based nutrition services to our clients or patients.
Responsibilities :
Program Development :
- Develop and implement comprehensive diet and nutrition programs that address the nutritional needs and goals of our clients or patients.
- Design specialized nutrition plans for individuals with specific dietary requirements, medical conditions, or health goals.
Staff Management :
Recruit, train, and supervise dietary staff, including dietitians, nutritionists, and food service workers.Provide leadership, guidance, and support to dietary team members to ensure the delivery of high-quality nutrition services.Clinical Oversight :
Provide clinical oversight and expertise in nutrition assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and monitoring.Review and assess individual nutrition plans, dietary assessments, and medical nutrition therapy recommendations.Menu Planning and Food Service :
Collaborate with culinary staff to develop nutritious and appealing menus that meet the dietary needs and preferences of our clients or patients.Ensure compliance with dietary guidelines, regulatory requirements, and food safety standards in food preparation and service.Nutrition Counseling :
Provide individualized nutrition counseling and education to clients or patients to promote healthy eating habits, disease prevention, and wellness.Address nutrition-related concerns, provide dietary recommendations, and support behavior change to achieve nutrition goals.Interdisciplinary Collaboration :
Collaborate with healthcare providers, including physicians, nurses, therapists, and social workers, to integrate nutrition services into patient care plans.Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and care coordination efforts to optimize patient outcomes.Quality Assurance and Compliance :
Monitor and evaluate the quality and effectiveness of nutrition services through ongoing assessment, outcome measurement, and performance improvement initiatives.Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and evidence-based practice guidelines in nutrition care delivery.Community Outreach and Education :
Conduct nutrition education seminars, workshops, and outreach events to promote awareness of healthy eating habits and nutrition-related topics in the community.Collaborate with community organizations, schools, and healthcare partners to provide nutrition education and support wellness initiatives.Requirements :
Education : Master's degree in nutrition, dietetics, or a related field is required. Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) certification is required.Experience : Minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical nutrition management preferred, dietetics leadership, or a related role, with demonstrated expertise in nutrition assessment and intervention.Leadership Skills : Strong leadership and management skills to lead a team, foster collaboration, and drive quality improvement initiatives in nutrition services.Clinical Expertise : Comprehensive knowledge of nutrition science, medical nutrition therapy, and dietary guidelines, with the ability to apply evidence-based practices in clinical settings.Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with clients, staff, interdisciplinary teams, and community partners.Interpersonal Skills : Ability to build rapport, establish trust, and communicate compassionately with clients or patients to support behavior change and promote wellness.Analytical Abilities : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess nutrition needs, interpret laboratory data, and develop individualized nutrition plans.Technology Proficiency : Proficiency in nutrition software / systems, electronic health records (EHR), and Microsoft Office Suite.Ethical Conduct : Adherence to professional ethical standards, confidentiality requirements, and legal regulations governing nutrition practice.Background Check : Successful completion of a criminal background check and any other screenings required by the employer or regulatory authorities.Note : This job description is intended to provide a general overview of the position.
