Job Description:
As a General Ledger Accountant, you will be responsible for managing general ledger activities and ensuring the accuracy of financial records. Your responsibilities will include:
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Receivable (AR): Manage and oversee AR processes, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing and collections.
- Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliations of accounts, including bank reconciliations and intercompany accounts.
- Construction Accounting: Handle work in process and revenue calculation, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of construction projects.
- ASC 842 Lease Accounting: Understand and apply ASC 842 lease accounting standards in financial reporting.
- Fixed Asset Accounting: Manage fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, and disposals.
- Inventory Management Accounting: Oversee inventory management accounting, ensuring accurate tracking and valuation of inventory.
- Billings: Prepare and manage billings for projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contract terms.
- Cash Management: Monitor and manage cash flow, including banking transactions and cash reconciliations.
- Journal Entries: Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Audits: Assist in internal and external audits as needed, providing necessary documentation and support.
- Cost Accounting: Perform cost accounting activities, including job costing and variance analysis.
- Liens: Handle lien releases and ensure compliance with lien laws and regulations.
- Other Accounting Projects: Assist with other accounting projects as requested and needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in general ledger accounting, preferably in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
- Experience with construction accounting and project accounting is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
