Position Overview: As our Cleaner, you will perform work directly related to cleaning and maintenance of apartment buildings and projects under the direction of the cleaning supervisor. Assignments will include, but not be limited to, vacant apartments, building hallways, and office cleaning. We are looking for individuals who love to clean and understand the basics of cleaning, and we will train on building specifics upon hire!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain a service-oriented environment by exhibiting a professional appearance and attitude
- Make apartments ready for move in by completing a full deep clean of all surfaces and objects with cleaning team
- Office cleaning upkeep including but not limited to trash removal, bathroom and kitchen cleaning and restocking, vacuuming/mopping, and dusting
- Building upkeep including but not limited to:
- Vacuuming/sweeping and wet mopping floors
- Entrance window cleaning (both inside and out)
- Full laundry room cleaning of room and machines
- Clean markings, cobwebs, etc off of building walls as needed
- Contribute to the safe working environment of Barker Apartments, QC properties by always maintaining safe work practices.
- Participate in safety and job training as required
Requirements:
- Knowledge of chemicals, tools, methods and practices used in apartment and building cleaning
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions
- Ability to use of manual and electric tools
- Ability to work varying shifts including weekends and holidays
- Ability to work extended hours outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift and move 40 pounds without restrictions
- Ability to safely move appliances in order to clean behind them
- Ability to stand, walk, and kneel for long periods of time and be able to climb three flights of stairs throughout the day
- Maintain professional, positive relationships with prospects, residents, and coworkers
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
