What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Supervisor position at Barksdale Federal Credit Union?
Summary:
Supervises the daily operations of the Accounting Department. Directly supervises and coordinates the activities of Staff Accountants. Implements established plans, goals, and objectives. Oversees and prepares financial reports, review and reconciles data, prepares entries and adjustments, and participates in the development of new products or processes. Provides management with information necessary for decision-making. Responsible for supervision, scheduling, training, and development of Staff Accountants. Assists and performs as back up to the Accounting Manager.
Job Requirements:
- Five or more years of accounting and related supervisory experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree from a 4 year college/university in Accounting or Finance preferred, with a minimum of six (6) hours of accounting.
- Ability to understand and interpret financial statements essential.
- Must be willing to continue on-going training in the accounting profession.
- Technical knowledge of concepts, practices, procedures, and financial reports.
- Understanding of related regulations, statutes, and filing requirements.
