Job Title: Mine Foreman

The Opportunity:
Barminco Mining Services Canada Ltd. has an exciting opportunity for a Mine Foreman to join our team at a project location 65 miles outside of Elko, Nevada. Reporting to the Project Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for their safety and the safety of their co-workers while being accountable for overseeing the work assignments of underground crews to reach production targets safely and efficiently.

Location: 65 Miles outside of Elko, Nevada
Shift: 7-days on / 7-days off rotation

Accommodation: Charter transportation from muster point. Camp and meals provided.

Key Responsibilities:

• Promote safe work practices while leading by example
• Provide leadership that instils confidence and encourages teamwork
• Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental policies, regulations and law
• Schedule and assign work of underground crews and mining equipment
• Manage performance of direct reports to achieve safe production targets, crew attendance, productivity and quality of work goal
• Discipline and recognize workers in a fair and consistent manner
• Work closely with the Project Managers for the planning of cost effective production
• Coordinate with Maintenance Foreman to maintain equipment reliability
• Be open to learning new methods and be willing to share skills and knowledge with team members

Qualifications:

• Over 10 years of underground mining experience desired
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in supervisory roles in underground mining
• Strong interpersonal, leadership and management skills
• Detail-oriented, adaptable, energetic
• Experience with Microsoft Office, SharePoint and Teams
• Strong organizational, planning and time management skills
• Strong communications skills, verbal and written
• Be flexible and willing to assist with a variety of tasks
• Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment
• Preferred, technical diploma, degree or similar qualification in mine engineering

Work Conditions:

• Ability to do shift camp work on a rotational basis (dayshift/nightshift), typically the rotations are 1 week on site (minimum 12-hour days), followed by 1 week off – working statutory holidays as they fall within the rotation
• While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to communicate, sit, stand, walk, climb, reach, push/pull, manipulate objects and work in awkward positions
• Duties may involve moving materials weighing up to 50 pounds
• Manual dexterity and good eye-hand coordination are required
• Extreme weather conditions
• Noise level in the work environment is moderate to high
