Manager, Strategic Fundraising InitiativesJob Summary:
Reporting to the Executive Director of Leadership Giving, the Manager of Strategic Fundraising Initiatives will support the Executive Director and other Development team members in all related process planning and implementation. The person in this role will work with other departmental leaders on the coordination of engagement opportunities, stewardship initiatives, and donor communications during the giving process. This person will also assist the Executive Director and fundraising team with crafting messaging for donor connections to the College’s top priorities as well as tracking team member goals, performance metrics, etc.Job Description:
The Manager’s primary responsibilities will include supporting the fundraising operation of Barnard College’s Development team, including assisting the Executive Director with the management of fundraiser portfolio assignments and helping coordinate other fundraising efforts and special projects in preparation for a future development campaign:
Work with the Executive Director to identify major gift prospects and coordinate their assignment to appropriate gift officers.
Assist fundraisers with identifying prospects and executing personalized engagement plans that fit the individual needs of each major gift prospect.
Provide portfolio management support to fundraisers including helping track relationships and gift proposals in Salesforce and updating the moves management guidelines document.
Along with the Executive Director, conduct regular portfolio review meetings to analyze and rebalance portfolio performance to ensure donors are optimally engaged with professional team members.
Ensure timely reporting and processing of gift agreements in the fundraising pipeline.
Track team member goals and performance metrics and report them to the Executive Director regularly.
Provide additional administrative support to the Executive Director of Leadership Giving, including but not limited to:
Assisting with planning and managing the departmental budget and related finances. This includes, but is not limited to: paying invoices, preparing purchase orders, completing check requests and travel expense requests, maintaining records of financial transactions for events and Executive Director expenses, and facilitating their routine reconciliation.
Assisting with the preparation of various documents, briefings, and research reports as needed.
Other related duties, including special projects, as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Excellent organization and time management skills, including the ability to prioritize workflow, coordinate activities and multi-task several projects at a time.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including demonstrated skills in the professional use of the telephone, email, and internet. Experience in arranging and scheduling meetings/appointments; maintaining multiple calendars; and maintaining/updating address books.
Meticulous attention to accuracy and detail in all matters, including excellent proofreading and editing skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team, all with minimal supervision.
Ability to take initiative, working with discretion and accuracy.
Dedication to providing high-quality customer service to a variety of personalities, employing strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure, including being flexible, resourceful, and adaptable to the changing needs and demands of a fast-paced environment.
Ability to interact with leaders, executives, senior management, and high-level donors that requires a high degree of judgment, tact, and professionalism.

Required Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree.
2-4 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
Experience working in Microsoft Office, Google Calendar, Gmail, Google Hangouts, Google Docs, Zoom, e-mail, internet, and other relevant software and/or apps; ability to operate standard office equipment.
Experience with fundraising database platforms (Salesforce preferred).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a customer service role with a variety of stakeholders.
Experience supporting executives and/or teams.
Experience in Higher Education.
Experience with planning and managing events and/or staff travel.
This job is currently a hybrid position and may require a presence in the office up to five times a week, including for team and full staff meetings, events, and other times as directed by the supervisor.
Salary Range: $65,000 - $67,500 annually
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
