What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations & Continuous Improvement Intern position at Barnes Group?
Core Responsibilities:
- Work directly with Operations and Continuous Improvement organizations on various assignments
- Collect, validate, and organize data
- Help identify deficiencies in day-to-day operations
- Perform all tasks in accordance with company HSE policies
- Complete internship project and present findings
- Assist with implementation of KanBan for Shop Consumables
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Implement/support the site 6S initiative
- Expedite material through production processes at the direction of operations management
Qualifications:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to schedule and organize time and tasks effectively
- Ability to work in a challenging and schedule driven environment
- Previous experience working with power/hand tools and measurement devices a plus
- Experience with MS Office preferred
Education Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university as a rising junior or senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree
