Serving local and national accounts and expanding sales and business operations areas are consistently growing to accommodate clients. In order to allow the owners to focus on customers and expansion, they are looking for a General Manager to lead the print shop operations and team.
Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Print Manager to oversee our printing operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in print production, color management, and prepress processes. This role requires a strong understanding of various printing techniques and the ability to manage projects from conception to completion while ensuring high-quality standards are met.
Duties
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the entire print shop (customer service to quoting to production to mailing), ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to deadlines.
- Oversee color management processes to maintain consistency and quality across all printed materials.
- Collaborate with design teams using Adobe Creative Suite to create layouts and prepare files for print.
- Coordinate with press operators to ensure optimal performance of printing equipment, including digital presses, wide format, and more.
- Conduct prepress checks to verify that all files meet specifications before production begins.
- Train and supervise staff on best practices in print production and equipment operation, including forklift usage.
- Maintain inventory of printing supplies and equipment, ensuring that all necessary materials are available for production runs.
- Troubleshoot any issues that arise during the printing process and implement solutions to minimize downtime.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in print management or a similar role within the printing industry.
- Strong knowledge of color management principles and techniques.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
- Familiarity with various printing methods, including digital printing, wide format, bindery work, and more.
- Experience with layout design and prepress processes is essential.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely a plus; certification is a plus but not required at hiring (training will be provided).
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
