Job Description :
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing Human Resources (HR)-related duties on a professional level and works closely with HR management in supporting designated geographic regions. Carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas : recruiting, building relationships with divisional staff and corporate HR staff, ensuring corporate policy compliance, participating in employment engagement / retention programs, and represent corporate HR in the field. The HR Generalist is an extension of corporate HR and should help create / share best practices to align with and support Barnhill business units to ensure a sustainable competitive advantage in the marketplace, and to achieve high performance goals and objectives, in alignment with the mission, vision and values of Barnhill Contracting Company.
Job Duties & Responsibilities :
- Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt employees by establishing relationships with the local School Systems, Community Colleges and Universities and assist with new-employee orientations and onboarding.
- Responsible for assisting corporate HR Management with administering various human resource plans and procedures for all personnel in their geographic region.
- Assist in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.
- Assist with preparation and revisions of the employee handbook and all other policies and procedures manuals.
- Acts as the main point of contact for HR matters (benefits administration, leave, communication, education, etc.) in their geographic region of responsibility while leveraging HR specialists in corporate HR
- Assist with maintaining human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database as pertains to area of responsibility and accountability.
- Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the HR program and services performed.
