Job Description:
Support the Survey Party Chief in conducting a variety of land surveys including construction, topographic, and layout projects. The role involves hands-on fieldwork, equipment handling, and assisting with data collection.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist the Survey Party Chief in conducting field surveys for construction, topographic, and layout purposes
- Carry, set up, and operate survey equipment (Total Station, receivers, levels, rods)
- Drive stakes, hubs and place other survey markers
- Clear brush, hedges, etc. to access survey sites
- Assist in recording field notes
Minimum Qualifications & Training:
- Previous experience in construction/surveying preferred
- Willingness to learn multiple tasks
- Ability to abide by precise instructions and strict but necessary safety rules and policies.
- Maintain a good attendance and safety record.
- Ability to work weekends and some nights.
Tasks Essential to Job Functions:
- The job requires the following motions: standing, walking, stretching, bending, lifting, pulling, twisting, throwing, reaching and squatting.
- Requires regular lifting of or more than 25 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
- Walking and standing may require a full day of 12 to 15 hours.
- Will be exposed to sometimes extreme hot and cold temperatures.
- Job requires riding to and from work. If the driving of a company vehicle is required, then the guidelines of the company driver qualifications standards must be met.
