JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE: MAINTENANCE CRAFTSMAN

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Knowledge of good building maintenance procedures and carpentry skills;
2. Knowledge of proper painting procedures and products associated with same;
3. Ability to work with a minimum of supervision;
4. Ability to work indoors or outside in adverse weather conditions, if necessary;
5. Ability to maintain flexibility in a fast-paced work environment;
6. Massachusetts driver’s license and safe driving record;
7. Such alternatives to the above as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.

REPORTS TO: Director of Facilities 

JOB GOAL: To maintain physical school properties both inside and outside in a condition of operating excellence so that the full educational and community use of them can be made at all times.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Responsible for all duties relative to warehousing and delivery of custodial supplies;
2. Responsible for inventory of all stock;
3. Assist other maintenance departments when necessary, including painter;
4. Maintains shop office area;
5. Delivers equipment and supplies to the schools as needed;
6. Requisitions supplies necessary for inventory;
7. Is courteous at all times to staff, students and the general public;
8. Perform any other duties and responsibilities in keeping with the scope of his/her job as assigned by the Director of Buildings and Grounds.
