Job Overview:
As the Front of House Restaurant Manager, you will oversee and manage all aspects of the guest experience, ensuring that the dining room, bar, and service areas run smoothly. You’ll lead a team of servers, hosts, and bartenders, while ensuring the highest level of service, efficiency, and guest satisfaction. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, an exceptional problem-solver, and have a strong eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the front of house (FOH) team, including servers, bartenders, and hosts, ensuring all guests receive exceptional service.
- Lead by example, fostering a positive, team-oriented work environment that encourages professionalism and hospitality.
- Ensure all guests are greeted warmly, seated in a timely manner, and provided with personalized service throughout their dining experience.
- Handle guest inquiries, feedback, and complaints promptly and professionally, ensuring positive resolutions to maintain customer satisfaction.
- Manage reservations, guest flow, and seating arrangements to optimize service during peak hours.
- Monitor service standards, ensuring that all staff adhere to the restaurant's policies and procedures, including food quality, cleanliness, and guest interactions.
- Coordinate with the kitchen and back-of-house team to ensure seamless communication and timely delivery of food.
- Supervise and support FOH staff, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure the restaurant is clean and well-organized, including overseeing the cleanliness of dining areas, bathrooms, and common spaces.
- Assist with inventory control, including bar supplies, linens, and front-of-house equipment, and order items as needed.
- Assist in managing the restaurant’s financials, including labor costs, revenue, and guest check averages.
- Enforce health and safety standards, ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations related to food safety and alcohol service.
- Stay informed about industry trends, new menu offerings, and special promotions, and actively engage with guests to ensure satisfaction.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in fine dining or upscale restaurant environments.
- Strong understanding of restaurant financials, including cost control and profit margin analysis.
- Familiarity with restaurant management software and point-of-sale systems (e.g., OpenTable, Toast, or similar).
- Food safety certification or management-level training in hospitality.
