Position Summary :
Key accounting opportunity with great growth potential. Responsible for a variety of accounting functions as it relates to Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Month End Close, and Financial Reporting.
Hybrid schedule with Monday and Friday remote and Tuesday through Thursday on site.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Performs various general ledger reconciliations including bank reconciliations, deductions, bad debt reserves, workers compensation, group insurance, and others by leveraging FloQast and ReconNet
- Prepares various weekly and month-end close journal entries including bad debt reserve adjustment, misc. deposits, displays, accruals, and misc. reclasses
- Maintains a Vendor Master list in our ERP system including setting up new vendors and processing change requests
- Responsible for setting up and maintaining audit rules, reports, and dashboards in SAP Concur Invoice to help maintain the accounts payable KPIs
- Assists the Accounts Receivable teams in resolving exceptions, and assisting in deductions processing during the peak seasons
- Assists in preparing monthly KPI reports tracking the performance of the Accounts Receivables team and monthly reports
- Proactively evaluates customers' credit balances and proposes balance changes based on sales history and payment patterns
- Assist with the annual planning process
- Verifies accuracy, completeness, and consistency of accounting information received.
- Performs special projects and other work as assigned by the Assistant and Divisional Controllers
- Performs all work in accordance with Barr's safety and quality guidelines and procedures; demonstrates a clear understanding of these safety and quality objectives
Qualifications / Experience :
Bachelor's degree (Accounting major). 2-3 years of general accounting or 1-2 years of public accounting experience is required. Advanced Excel skills to include VLOOKUPS, SUMIFS, IF, IFS formulas, and Pivot Tables.
Must have excellent attention to detail, excellent organization, and interpersonal skills; effective oral and written communication skills; excellent report writing and analysis; proficiency in the use of computer systems and software applications including spreadsheets, word processing, and presentations; ability to work in a fast-paced environment; must have the ability to work cohesively with people from different functional areas; must be flexible and a team player. Some overtime may be required.
