Barr-Reeve Community Schools is seeking a passionate and energetic Middle/High School Math Teacher to join our dedicated team. We are looking for an educator who inspires curiosity, confidence, and problem-solving in students through engaging, rigorous, and standards-based instruction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver effective math instruction aligned with Indiana academic standards.
- Foster a learning environment where students are encouraged to think critically, ask questions, and apply mathematical concepts to real-world problems.
- Create clear, purposeful lesson plans that promote active learning and meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed.
- Maintain a respectful and supportive classroom environment focused on growth and high expectations.
- Collaborate with colleagues, participate in school and department meetings, and communicate regularly with families to support student success.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to strengthen instructional practices and stay current with best practices in math education.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Math Education, or a related field.
- Valid Indiana State Teaching License in Mathematics (grades 5–12) or eligibility to obtain one.
- Prior teaching experience is welcomed but not required—we support new educators and are committed to mentoring those beginning their careers.
- Strong knowledge of Indiana academic math standards and best practices in math instruction.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
- A commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and student-centered classroom culture.
