Position Summary
As an Iniciar Casos Specialist, you will assist the legal team to ensure the timely preparation, processing, submission and tracking of immigration cases. You will serve as the first point of contact for new clients as they initiate their immigration legal case with Barrales Law, by meeting with clients, obtaining required case information and client documents, and explaining legal processes to clients. You will provide critical administrative support to paralegals and attorneys by collecting and organizing client information and recording thorough notes in our case management systems. This position provides excellent client service and supports the legal team with case-related tasks. This position is fully in-person, Monday through Friday from 9am-5pm, in East Boston, Massachusetts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Meet with new clients to conduct intake for their immigration cases.
- Explain general aspects of clients’ cases, office processes and procedures, and help set client expectations for their case.
- Work closely with attorneys and paralegals on all aspects of case preparation for various immigration processes.
- Input/upload all client case and contact information when beginning a new case in our case management system and SharePoint.
- File documents in proper order and follow internal protocols and procedures.
- Learn and apply knowledge of procedural and processing requirements for various types of non-immigrant and immigrant visa petitions and applications.
- Work with clients to gather and provide information.
- Perform administrative functions such as scanning and filing documents in document management systems.
- Help facilitate follow up with clients by communicating clear expectations and deadlines for clients to bring in additional documents or information, and ensuring legal teams connect with clients for appropriate follow-up as needed.

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
