Description:

Our client is a large Agricultural Manufacturing company in Merced that is looking for a Drafter to create detailed manufacturing drawings for new products, custom products, and product optimization designs. You will assist in designing components and systems, ensuring that designs meet company standards and client specifications. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Technical Drawing Creation:

o Produce detailed technical drawings and plans based on specifications and calculations provided by engineers and designers.

o Use CAD software to create accurate and precise drawings.

2. Design Development:

o Assist in the development of new designs and modifications to existing designs.

o Ensure that designs comply with industry standards and regulations.

3. Documentation:

o Maintain accurate records of all drawings and design changes.

o Prepare and generate regular reports on design activities and progress.

4. Quality Assurance:

o Ensure that all drawings and designs meet company quality standards.

o Conduct thorough reviews and checks to identify and correct errors.

5. Collaboration:

o Work closely with engineers, designers, and production teams to understand their design requirements and incorporate feedback.

o Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives as needed.

6. Continuous Improvement:

o Stay informed about the latest design trends, tools, and technologies.

o Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance design skills and knowledge.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assist in the preparation of project documentation and specifications.

2. Support the development and maintenance of design standards and procedures.

3. Provide technical support to production and manufacturing teams as needed.

4. Participate in design reviews and project meetings.

5. Maintain a cooperative positive attitude to accomplish work goals of the job and work group.

6. Maintain good attendance and punctuality.

7. Adhere to all company policies, including but not limited to meal/break policy, appearance/dress code policy, and request time off policy.

8. Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to a changing schedule.

9. Ability to effectively manage time and meet deadlines.

10. Provide on-the-job training to new employees.

11. Ability to read and understand work orders.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

1. Education and Experience:

o Associate’s degree in Drafting, Design, Engineering Technology, or a related field is required. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

o 1-2 years of experience in drafting or design. Internships or related work experience is a plus.

o Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar.

2. Technical Skills:

o Understanding of technical drawing standards and practices.

o Knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes.

3. Attention to Detail:

o Meticulousness in creating accurate and precise drawings.

o Ability to identify and correct errors in designs.

4. Analytical Skills:

o Ability to interpret technical specifications and drawings.

o Strong problem-solving skills to address design challenges.

5. Communication Skills:

o Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with internal stakeholders and external clients.

o Ability to explain technical information clearly.

6. Organizational Skills:

o Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

o Ability to manage multiple design projects simultaneously.

7. Teamwork:

o Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineers, production personnel, and project managers.

o Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and business requirements.

8. Continuous Learning:

o Eagerness to stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in drafting and design.

o Participation in ongoing learning and professional development activities.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

1. Sitting:

o Proficiency in typing and data entry tasks is necessary for inputting design information and creating technical drawings.
