The Position
The General Manager, reporting to the Regional VP of Operations, is responsible for overall management of the operation and facility(s). Will oversee all business activities, support staff development, enhance efficiency, drive sales and improve revenue, maintain relationships with clients, enhance the organization's image, and meet overall growth objectives.
This position works Monday through Friday, from 8am-4:30pm.
The compensation for this position ranges from $160K to $170K, depending on experience.

The Position
The General Manager, reporting to the Regional VP of Operations, is responsible for overall management of the operation and facility(s). Will oversee all business activities, support staff development, enhance efficiency, drive sales and improve revenue, maintain relationships with clients, enhance the organization's image, and meet overall growth objectives.

Your Day-to-Day
- Accountable for the safe, efficient, and economical operation of the warehouse in the areas of staffing, warehouse operations, maintenance of the facility and equipment, implementation of safety, security, housekeeping and sanitation programs, budgeting, customer service and inventory control.
- Provide leadership and strategic visions to the operation by daily oversight of all facets of the operation as well as developing quarterly, annual and long-range plans for the operation.
- Effectively communicate the company’s vison and strategic annual objectives to all staff members.
- Communicate with Regional VP of Operations of issues affecting costs, service capabilities, effectiveness and efficiencies, as well as issues noted during Performance Improvement audits.
- Responsible for building and achieving P&L, SLAs, and KPI goals for facility; responsible for reporting progress of same.
- Develop, prioritize and direct programs to ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation and utilization of the warehouse.
- Handle escalations of challenging issues related to clients of all sizes; ensure client needs are met or exceeded while also protecting the interests of the company
- Accountable for ensuring the appropriate processes are followed when identifying and investigating the root cause of Nonconformance Reports; ensures the implementation of Corrective Actions, if needed.
- Responsible for the preparation of budgets, revenue projections, and account analysis.
- Utilize measurement systems to evaluate productivity, quality and variance from standards.
- Develop space utilization plan to optimize facility storage to minimize the inefficient utilization of space.
- Provide for good stewardship of the assets of the business and understands the importance of relationship building and maintaining clear lines of communication with customers and employees
- Establish productive relationships with internal partners, including but not limited to Regional Vice President of Operations, Strategic Account Management, Business Process Optimization, Customer Service, Finance, and Human Resources, to identify business opportunities and resolve issues.
- Attract, develop and retain high performing, diverse talent within the business; build future leaders through mentoring and serving as a role model
- Develop and communicate clear goals and expectations for their leadership team; provide ongoing training and development opportunities.
- Support the hiring, onboarding, training and development of all warehouse staff.
- Ensure daily goals, pertinent facility information and company-wide communications are clearly communicated to all staff members in a timely, effective manner.
- Champion the GGOB program in the facility. This includes the effective communication of GGOB targets and results and the oversight of mini games to improve productivity and/or to improve our customer’s experience.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and support improvement initiatives by encouraging collaboration and teamwork amongst all staff members.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and MSDS regulations.
- Monitor warehouse operations continually to ensure the warehouse is neat, secure, safe, and well organized
- Maintain physical condition of warehouse by planning, inspecting and issuing work order requests for repair or replacements
- Perform other related duties as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Engineering, or other industry-related field required. Master’s degree preferred. May consider 15 years of industry related experience in leu of college degree.
- Ten plus (10 ) years of demonstrated supervisory experience required (preferably in a warehouse or distribution center environment)
- Working knowledge of Inventory control, cycle counts, and a proven track record of inventory accuracy.
- Proficient with all Microsoft applications. Working knowledge of 3PL warehouse operations, supply chain and transportation preferred. Previous experience with Synapse WMS system preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English (Bilingual Spanish/English skills preferred).
- Must demonstrate high level of interpersonal and communication skills with ability to work well under pressure and problem solve across a variety of business processes. Able to balance competing priorities, complex situations, and tight deadlines. Strong emphasis on organizational skills and attention to detail.
