What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant position at Barrett Hospital & HealthCare?
The Fiscal Department at Barrett Hospital & HealthCare invites applications to fill an Accountant position to join our team of professionals. The Accountant is responsible for the accounts payable functions, including preparation and filing of IRS form 1099. The Accountant is also responsible for maintenance of the organization’s fixed assets and depreciation system; analyzing and reconciling bank statements, facility bank investment accounts, facility asset and liability accounts, and other General Ledger accounts. The Accountant assists with the budget processing, yearly and unscheduled audits, as well as completing financial surveys. Knowledge of the preparation of financial statements and processing of journal entries while adhering to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) principles is required.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a business or accounting program with two years of related experience; or four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education in experience in business or accounting. Incumbents must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public; ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations; ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
