Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our team at Turquoise Ridge operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing visual inspections of underground mining activities, identifying rock hazards, and providing recommendations for excavation performance.
Key Responsibilities:- Independently perform work involving visual inspections of underground mining activities to identify rock hazards and provide recommendations.
- Ensure adherence to Ground Control standards and maintain ground support QA/QC program.
- Utilize rock mechanics properties to design ground support as needed.
- Collect, analyze, and report on geotechnical monitoring data and maintain databases.
- Review and advise on mine and stope designs.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, or Geology required.
- At least 5-7 years of experience in underground geotechnics, including geotechnical design work.
- Experience with rock mass classification systems, geotechnical analysis, structural mapping, ground support designs, and underground mining QA/QC programs required.
- Familiarity with various geotechnical software packages preferred.
