Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Business Development Director to drive the growth and expansion of a leading Clinical Research Organization (CRO) specializing in Phase I-IV clinical trials. The ideal candidate will have an established network in the Boston area and a proven track record in generating new business within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device sectors. As the Business Development Director, you will be responsible for identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities, building long-term client relationships, and executing business strategies that support the organization's growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute business development initiatives to generate new opportunities with pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device companies in Boston and surrounding areas.
- Drive strategies for both new client acquisition and expansion within existing accounts, with a focus on all stages of clinical trials (Phase I-IV).
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key decision-makers in the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors.
- Leverage an existing network in Boston to generate leads and build relationships with key stakeholders in the industry.
- Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities in the Boston area.
- Lead negotiations and oversee the closing of contracts and agreements, ensuring favorable terms and conditions for all parties.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in business development within a CRO/Consultancy in a business development/sales position (Must Have)
- Demonstrated success in identifying and securing business opportunities, building relationships, and closing deals, specifically in Phase I-IV clinical trials.
- Strong, established network in the Boston pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device industries is highly preferred.
- Understanding of the clinical trial process, particularly within Phase I-IV.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple business development projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in CRM tools and business development software.
