Electrician/Board Op - Boyd-Quinson Stage
Barrington Stage Company, an award-winning professional theater company located in the heart of the Berkshires, is seeking an Electrician/Board Operator for our Boyd-Quinson Stage to join our team in Pittsfield, MA. This position works alongside the spot operators to ensure high-quality lighting for every performance throughout the BSC 2025 season in their venue. This position requires an independent individual with knowledge of theatrical lighting systems who is able to work with a team to reach the artistic goals of the production.

Responsibilities:
- Assist in providing all lighting support for productions and events throughout the BSC 2025 season, as directed by the Lighting Supervisor
- Maintain up-to-date paperwork for each production including, plot, channel hook-up and show run sheets
- Hang, focus, and strike lighting instruments as instructed by the Lighting Supervisor
- Program and operate computers and lighting consoles
- Complete pre-show checks and shut down procedures for all lighting equipment before and after each performance, and complete quick repairs as needed
- Accurately execute the lighting design as set by the lighting designer during technical rehearsals, and replicate this design accurately and consistently as called by the Stage Manager throughout the show run
- Repair and maintain practicals and other show-specific effects during the run of production
- Help maintain lighting instruments, equipment, tools, and projections equipment and make sure they are in safe and proper working order
- Aid in the construction and wiring of specialty items such as light boxes, star drops, and LED Tape projects
- Keep the electrics shop as well as the lighting booth for the venue clean and organized throughout the season
- Assist in maintaining and updating the lighting inventory throughout the season
Skills:
- Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
- Knowledge of theatrical lighting systems and equipment
- Knowledge of ETC Lighting Consoles and Fixtures
- Experience with Hang and Focus from a light plot and designer instruction
- Experience with DMX equipment, atmospherics, moving lights, and LED fixtures
- Working knowledge of theatrical rigging, electricity, wiring, and soldering
- Ability to work as part of a team but also take on individual responsibilities
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be comfortable working at heights
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Adobe Acrobat
This position reports to the Lighting Supervisor and Associate Lighting Supervisor. It is a full-time, seasonal position
Contract: 5/5/2025 through 8/31/2025
Pay is $821.15 per week, non-exempt, with overtime starting at 50 hours and housing available.
