Barrington Stage Company seeks Guest Services Associates to join the team for the summer season of 2025.
Guest Services Associates serve as the first Barrington representative most guests will interact with. The ability to assist in a multitude of ways from parking directions, special event facilitation, ticketing, house management, and accessibility, including merchandise, food, and beverage sales are the focus of these positions. The nature of these roles is meant to provide a broad range of exposure to the various front-facing positions that are inherently a part of guest services and hospitality. These positions will function on a rotational basis to provide a full experience for the candidates.
Successful candidates will be observant self-starters with a knack for engaging with all types of people. Being able to see a need, address it, and solve the problem without being asked in advance is necessary for these roles. The goal is to be the liaison for our guests to provide dynamic experiences that money can not buy.
Guest Services Associates are seasonal hourly positions that will be consistently scheduled and serve in a variety of capacities from the box office, and house management to special events. These positions are ideal for someone looking to learn a lot about how theatres are run and seeking insight into what a professional next step may look like. Nights and weekends throughout the summer season are required. Housing is available for the right candidates.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build relationships with the guests by assisting with ticket purchases, retail sales, beverage service, and special events while providing exceptional customer service
- Contribute to the success of the Guest Services Team in the development and implementation of ticketing, special events, and other onsite activities as needed.

- Partner with the Event & Sales Manager, the Box Office Manager, the Assistant Box Office Manager, House Managers, and the Director of Guest Services and Sales regarding daily operational and guest engagement needs.
- Collaborate with the House Managers as needed during performances to ensure prompt show times, and mitigate any problems that may arise
- Ensure Guest safety while in our spaces by enforcing protocols set forth by supervisors.
- Manage and process the internal needs of BSC as directed by your supervisors.
- Assist with any front-of-house needs as assigned, including parking assistance, database management, retail and concession sales/setup, and be willing to swing into other locations of the Guest Services team as needed.
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience in the box office, retail, or events encouraged
- Background in a theatre environment preferred
- A collaboratively driven team player with a “can do” attitude and positive spirit
- Strong verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work calmly under pressure
- Ability to lift, carry, or pull up to 25 lbs.
START DATE & PAY RATE:
- $18/hour, 30-40 hours per week
- Start Date: May 19, 2025
- End Date: End of August to middle of September depending on the assignments
