Wardrobe Technicians
Barrington Stage Company, an award-winning professional theatre company located in the heart of the Berkshires, is seeking Wardrobe Technicians to join our team in Pittsfield, MA. This position assists the Wardrobe Supervisor and Associate Wardrobe Supervisor in the care, management, and organization of costumes through the dress rehearsal, performance, and strike of each production throughout the 2025 season. This position requires a team player with great interpersonal skills, a working knowledge of costume maintenance and cleaning, and the ability to remain calm in high-stress situations.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with the care, management, and organization of finished costumes during the dress rehearsal and performance period
- Assist actors getting into costumes and help facilitate quick changes
- Check-in and review costumes prior to each performance
- Make sure costumes are preset onstage and backstage and retrieve costumes and return them to the correct dressing room for every performance as instructed by the Wardrobe and Associate Wardrobe Supervisors
- Help maintain dressing rooms throughout the performance period
- Assist with the maintenance of costumes during the performance period, such as laundry, ironing, shoe polishing, and repairs as assigned
- Advise the Wardrobe and Associate Wardrobe Supervisors on matters of specific rigging or actor comfort as necessary
- Assist with hanging up, spraying down, and putting away costumes at the end of each rehearsal or performance
- Keep the Wardrobe Room and Quick Change Booths clean and free of debris
Skills:
- Strong interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills
- Prior backstage costume-related experience
- Basic sewing skills as it relates to repairs and quick change rigging
- Knowledge and experience in laundry, fabric cleaning techniques and stain removal
- Experience with wig application and pinning helpful
- Able to stand for long periods of time
- Able to remain calm during high-pressure quick change situations
This position reports to the Wardrobe Supervisor and Associate Wardrobe Supervisor. It is a full-time, seasonal position.
Contracts: 6/9/2025 through 720/2025 & 6/9/2025 through 8/24/2025.
Pay is $821.15 per week, non-exempt with overtime after 50 hours, and housing available.
