What are the responsibilities and job description for the Utilities Systems Inspector position at Barrow County BOC?
The Utilities Systems Inspector is responsible for inspecting residential and commercial construction sites for compliance with Barrow County Water and Sewer Standards, Details and Ordinance requirements and applicable approved construction plans; inspection of Water Distribution and Sewer Collection systems to identify maintenance and repair needs.

- Conduct field inspections on water and sewer infrastructure
- Prepare reports, forms and documenting in the department database
- Respond to inquiries and concerns received from developers, contractors, homeowners, and other customers pertinent to infrastructure construction and corrective actions.
- Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
- Ability to observe construction activities and determine compliance with the plans and specifications.
- Must have good writing and organizational skills in order to prepare and keep daily reports and maintain other associated project paperwork.
- Must be self-motivated and display the ability to be prompt and reliable.
- GA driver’s license
- Assist with other Utilities work as required by Utilities Manager.
- 3-5 years of experience in utility related construction or operation and maintenance of utility systems.
- Experience in a municipal utility environment is a plus.
- Or, any combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities needed for this position.
Salary : $44,276 - $70,842
