POSITION TITLE : Coordinator, Safety
REPORTING TO : Manager, Health, Safety and Environmental
LOCATION : St. Albans, VT

SHIFT HOURS : Monday - Friday 7 : 00am - 3 : 30pm
This position reports to the HSE Manager and will play a vital role in ensuring practices, rules, policies and regulations related to health and safety standards and specifications at Barry Callebaut are in place and followed.

- Observe all safety, sanitation, GMP and HACCP requirements
- Provide initial new-hire safety training and follow-up
- Attend all safety committee meetings, build and distribute meeting agenda, take meeting minutes and ensure all necessary paperwork is ready for the meetings
- Conduct accident, incident and near-miss investigations and submit final RCA report to the HSE Manager
- Participate in the continued development and implementation of Barry Callebaut safety programs such as lockout / tagout, fire protection, and other OSHA safety compliance programs
- Participates in hazardous risk assessments and job safety analysts
- Participate in plant wide HSE audits
- Track and report on selected safety KPI's to the HSE Manager
- Manage multiple projects and priorities at the same time while meeting deadlines
- Provide recommendations for improving safety in the workplace
- Educate employees on safety standards and expectations as well as safe machinery operation
- Assist HSE Manager with all safety-related meetings and projects
- Assist HSE Manager with research, recordkeeping, training, and document management
- Inform HSE Manager of all identified needs and issues
- Obtain First Aid, CPR, AED certification to train workforce Maintain fire extinguisher, AED, and Eyewash monthly and annual inspections checks.
